I grew up outside of Dallas, Texas on three acres of land, where my first experience with growing food happened around age ten, gripping a wildly out-of-control tiller while my dad watched in disbelief. I somehow managed to tame it, till the land, and earn a moment so impressive my dad ran inside yelling for my mom to grab the camera. That early spark stuck.
Years later, after a career in pharmaceutical sales that never fully aligned with my values, I made a deliberate decision to step away and build a more intentional life. In 2021, I moved into a New York City apartment with a 500-square-foot rooftop terrace overlooking the skyline, and started growing my own food in containers.
What began as a way to support my partner, a plant-based chef, quickly became something bigger. We began hosting private dinners on our terrace, serving dishes made with food grown just steps away. Since then, my rooftop has evolved into a thriving container garden where I grow 50+ edible crops each season, all in a real NYC environment.
I’m completely self-taught, learning through hands-on experience, trial and error, and years of growing in small urban spaces. Today, I help New Yorkers grow food where they live - on rooftops, terraces, balconies, and indoors -with practical guidance, thoughtful design, and a belief that growing your own food should feel empowering, not overwhelming.

Every tip, crop, and product recommendation is tested on real NYC terraces, balconies, and windowsills.
